CollegeDawg "Factoids"

OK...we didn't want to say "Disclaimers"

or Future Expectations, or Accuracy of Info, or Interesting Tidbits

So here we go---just so we're all clear!

(We promise...some of this will actually be entertaining.  It may even be "stand up" worthy.)

*We think this is obvious, but the CollegeDawg site is FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.  We provide ideas, suggestions, opinions, or potential strategies that have a great chance of saving you a massive amount of time & money.  But by no means are you our Clients---just some fans of Beating the System!  We assume no responsibility if you "jack things up" on your own.

*PLEASE do not rely on us for the "latest and greatest'" in Federal Financial Aid changes, State Benefits, Testing Rule changes etc... we are not a news site monitoring changes daily (or even monthly).  What we're giving you are the basics to show you what to look for moving forward on all the topics covered---and we've provided almost all links for the sources you'll need in our FA Links section in the website footer.  This should save you a lot of question-related instant message typing... and me sending links to this page and that page in a never-ending loop.

*The accuracy of the information is FAIRLY HIGH---but obviously with this much content, there's bound to be misinterpretations, bad sources,

old info, mistakes, typos, etc...  We double checked most stuff, but if you find errors---just let us know via our "contact us" section.  We'll be happy to get it corrected QUICKLY!

*I (Brian) am in fact a former Higher Ed Exec & Trainer along with all those other things we talked about in the "About Us" section.  However, EXPERT is not a word we used.  In fact, if this was the courtroom, I don't think they'd be calling me to testify.  I just have a unique background that covers all this stuff to some extent---and am really into Strategies, Different Perspectives, Sales, Debating, and Competition.  One of the Leaders I still mentor periodically, once said:  "If there is a shortcut, loophole, or angle--Brian will find it."  Hmmmmm, I'm not sure that was a complement.

*Yeah, we know we used a lot of terms interchangeably---yet know that technically they have slight differences depending on School and Locale.  Colleges, Universities, Schools, & Institutions is one example.  But we felt comfortable there since most people ask a HS Senior:  What School are you going to?  Have you picked out a College?  Get it?  We did the same thing painting a picture between the following ("Football Schools", "Well-Known Schools", "Flagship Schools", & those considered "Prestigious") vs. "Regional", "Satellite", or "Branch" Universities.  We were just looking to get people to "visualize" BASIC Categories & Differences.  There are a few others, so if you like to nitpick---feel free to contact us.

We might consider changing it.  Probably not.

*Here's a FUN ONE (there will be several).  Yeah, we know the website looks a little like a Pre-Teen or perhaps someone "significantly dated" put it together as compared to other websites (no offense to anyone).  Anyway, that's what we were shooting for!  Not really.  We make no apologies.  We needed something that would work WITH ALL THE INFORMATION we needed to put out.  Like we've mentioned---it's very much like an internet based "How to Manual"---start to finish.  It's meant to be read---yeah, it has a lot of words.  But we tried to make it entertaining, simple, easy to understand, AND EXTRAORDINARILY UNIQUE & VALUABLE.

*Along those same lines---we state on several pages that the information is free---and all inclusive.  We aren't looking for clicks, subscriptions, advertising dollars, or money from you.  Therefore, we get to do it our way.  No videos, No AI, No moving meme things.  It's not that we are "out of touch", it's kinda more like we don't care.  THE JOB WAS TO GET YOU THE INFO AND HELP PEOPLE SAVE THOUSANDS!  Mission Accomplished.

*Similarly, the site was written in a CONVERSATIONAL format.  We're not concerned about how to use a semi-colon or ending a sentence in a preposition.  It's just designed to work like we were sitting there talking to you (including all the sarcasm and humor).

But here's a funny fact---I did pass the English Composition CLEP (and got credit for the College courses Eng 101 and 102).  There you go............

*YES, WE KNOW THE SITE SUCKS ON YOUR PHONE.  Help us get the word out that this is designed for laptops, desktops, or decent sized tablets (request "desktop site" in your tablet browser).  We'll probably create a mobile website landing page stating that soon---but not now.  If you don't have a laptop, borrow your Mom's, go to the Library, or get on your phone & buy one.

*A HELPFUL TIDBIT FOR MANY OF YOU!  We know some of the site has smaller print when using tiny screens or monitors.  But check this out.  My College student son showed me an awesome tool.  If you want to zoom in or out---its super easy.  Hit CTRL + to make it zoom in a bit, and CTRL - to zoom it out.  They even have a command to put it back to normal---CTRL 0 (zero).  You're welcome.

*No, we don't want anyone to do a more professional website for us.  That is---unless we can change anything, at any time, without any extra effort & without contacting you.  Thought not.  Save your pitch.

*We'll do our best to keep pertinent Strategy & Career info fairly up-to-date.  We'll also be shooting out helpful and updated tidbits related to Higher Ed and Careers via our Social Media sites.  Just don't call us out there!  We offer 4-5 different ways to contact us ON THE DOWN-LOW.

*Another FUN ONE.  This was supposed to take 4-5 weeks to create, but it took 9+ months.  Why?  The basic information we were going to include initially led to much-much more information that we felt was necessary to paint a somewhat complete picture.

Essentially, we went down those "Rabbit Holes" so hopefully you wouldn't have to.

*All "links" to other agencies, information sites, or companies were functioning properly when published.  They'll be checked periodically, but please let us know if we need to replace 1 or 2.  We really do want it to be highly accurate after working on this intermittently for nearly

10 months.

*Specific Colleges or Companies used for reference were almost all non-affiliated with us.  Some WILL BE, and we'll have those reflected in our "Partners" section moving forward.

*The CollegeDawg site was not created to "Put Anyone on Blast".  If you are affiliated or related to any Individual, any Company, or any College who feels offended let us know.  We'll find someone else.  But seriously, this site was made to save THE CONSUMER time and money, while also demonstrating how things often work in the Higher Ed business.  It's not right or wrong---"the game" might just be different than many expected.  Our goal is to pit our newly minted "Chess Masters" vs. the system itself.  Prepare to seriously checkmate some people!

Lastly---we really do appreciate the time you spend going through our site.  It makes it all worth the effort.  Just one small observation:  if you made it all the way down here to the bottom, you're either REALLY BORED, AN ATTORNEY, or RELATED TO US (Hi Mom!).  But seriously thanks.  We appreciate you getting the word out so others can save SOME SERIOUS TIME & MONEY.

And...
